A message from the Chairman
Having played football as a child myself, for School, County and within the Army plus holding many coaching and professional coaching and development qualifications, I believe I have the experience when it comes to developing people. I completed my first football coaching badge back in the Summer of 1990 when it was a 2 week long course within the military and coached adult football for approx 8 years. More recently, I completed the more modern FA Level 1 Coaching badge just before Covid struck and then again in 2023/24 completed the NEW Introduction to Coaching Football Course to ensure I know what our new coaches are going through, let alone to update my own knowledge once more within this forever changing and evolving sport. You will see me this season at our club trials, training and matches – please come and say hello.
Apsley FC will strive to inject positivity in to your children, instilling a can do attitude, fueling the fun in football and helping players and parents to remember why it is that they started to play football in the first place – for the love, the passion, the friendship and scoring that winning goal! As a parent, if you have a passion for football then why not become a coach, take a look here for further information.
We shall win some, lose some and draw some – I believe your child has a better chance of development if the sport is kept run, realistic and positive.
We welcome any player and any parent to join our club if you agree with our philosophy.
See you all on the pitch.
Garry Harvey / Chairman
